Modern airlines run on integrated digital systems — 24×7, regulated, operationally critical. Voucher and refund engines, lounge access, maintenance ops, technical logs, safety reporting, in-flight services. Each domain is its own discipline. Each one is built on legacy that someone has to digitize without breaking.
That's where KIS works. Nine OutSystems projects with a single flagship customer across eight years, each one a different airline domain, each one in production.
TAP Air Portugal is the through-line of our aviation IP. From the OutSystems factory governance role through individual product builds, we've been there.

16 voucher services scattered across departments — all manual, all overwhelmed when COVID grounded global air travel. The airline needed to process months of work in days.
Unified all 16 services into a single platform. Integrated directly with accounting and customer-service core systems. Replaced manual handling with a fully digital, self-service flow.
Premium lounges only work when entry is fast. 20–30 minutes of queueing kills the whole proposition. Validation had to be instant — across boarding-pass formats and frequent-flyer card variants from every airline.
Software that scans boarding passes (IATA-standard) and frequent-flyer cards (every variant) at lounge entrances in Lisbon & Funchal. Live invoicing between lounges and airlines, fraud prevention by design.
Maintenance crews had 40 to 60 minutes between flights to inspect a plane. Paper checklists, late gate changes, and hand-offs back to managers ate that budget — and any delay risked the next flight.
Mobile app on shock-resistant phones — real-time inspection checklist, live location of the plane, push to mechanics with task and timing, instant escalation to managers if a part replacement was needed.
Each system is in active production. Detail pages and deeper case write-ups available on request from the TAP account team.
